Dr. Puentes childhood passion for helping others ultimately led her to dentistry. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Cal State Dominguez Hills. She attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry and graduated with a DDS degree in 2002. She furthered her education by doing a residency program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry. Throughout the years, Dr. Puentes has provided quality comprehensive care to Downey residents and its surrounding area since 2005. She is an airway-centered dentist that recognizes the importance of evaluating teeth, airway, and TMJ’s. Dr. Puentes is very knowledgeable in all aspects of general dentistry including functional orthodontics and Invisalign. She spends countless hours attending different courses to further her education and provide the latest and best treatment to her patients.

At home Dr. Puentes enjoys reading, hiking, running, but most of all, spending quality time with her family. She’s got 3 vivacious and energetic girls that keep her very busy with their school and dance.

Hoi is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She earned her Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene in 2005. She recently moved to California from North Carolina and has been enjoying the beautiful weather, culture and different foods that SoCal has to offer! Her favorite part of her job is providing patients the experience of good dental care and the feeling of a great smile. How and her husband are blessed with their little son-Carter. On her spare time, she loves to spend time with family and friends, traveling, practicing photography, catching up on Netflix/Bravo and chasing her son.
